Nursing Department of Prairie State College

The Nursing Department of Prairie State College established the Michelle Bogdon Memorial Endowed Scholarship in memory of Ms. Michelle Bogdon, a graduate in 1998 from the Nursing Program. Ms. Bogdon was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer in 1997, after completing the first year of nursing. She continued through the program despite the chemotherapy and radiation; Ms. Bogdon remained positive and determined to become an RN. After graduation, she worked part-time for a local health facility until it was no longer possible. The Nursing Department of Prairie State College wishes to remember Ms. Bodgon for her courage and strength despite her illness.
